| After more than two years of organizing, 500 home care workers in Napa voted by an overwhelming 93-7 percent margin to be represented by Local 614 — thanks to its organizing partnership with Local 616. |

SEIU's Joint Organizing Partnership — uniting Locals 616 (Alameda Co.), 614 (Napa Co.), 707 (Sonoma/Mendocino), 949 (Marin), and 1280 (Solano Co.) — has helped thousands of public service workers join the union and negotiate first contracts with their government employers:
More than 250 Head Start teachers and family advocates have joined Local 616 since Feb. 2003.
Almost 90 regular hourly employees of the Hayward Area Recreatin and Park District won union representation in September 2004.
500 Napa County home care workers voted to join Local 614 in Dec. 2002.
150 Head Start teachers in Napa and Solano counties voted to joined Local 1280 in May 2002.
2,100 Home care workers voted to join Local 1280 in Dec. 2001.

Head Start teachers employed by Oakland's Unity Council had plenty of reason to celebrate after nearly four months of organizing. Teachers at four sites voted 63-2 to join Local 616.
